What We Do

An ever expanding image collection

The museum’s image collection continues to grow as we uncover more and more photographs from around the world. We thought we’d share some of the many photographs we have collected over the years by placing them in galleries you can click through. We’ll be adding to these from time to time, to build a complete picture of life in the South Pacific during World War II.

Our ultimate aim is to make the collection the most comprehensive database of South Pacific World War II images in the world. We have a way to go to reach that milestone, which is why we’re asking anyone who has images of not only the New Hebrides/Vanuatu but all through the South Pacific area of conflict to get in touch with us. We would dearly appreciate adding your images to our database and of course acknowledging their source as we grow our library.

Clicking on any of the images below will take you to the relevant gallery.
