How you can help

A Journey Worth Sharing

The South Pacific World War II Museum was born out of idea to recognise the vital role the island of Santo played during World War II. Since then it has grown into a project far bigger than we could of initially envisaged, encompassing not just Santo but the entire South Pacific. That said, the focus of the Museum is to retrace Vanuatu’s wartime history and leave a legacy for those who sacrificed their lives to ensure the freedom we enjoy in ours. And you can play your own part in ensuring that legacy is brought to fruition.

Friend of the Museum

There are a number of ways you can assist the museum. One of which is to become a Friend of the Museum. By registering your interest in the Museum project, you’ll receive a monthly newsletter featuring the latest news from the Museum and details on Museum related activities. Down the track as the Museum becomes established, we’ll offer Friends of the Museum exclusive benefits, updates on our progress and invitations to special events. It’s our way of saying thank you for your support of this exciting project.

What else you can do

Any museum or gallery relies on the items in its care, for it to truly become a collection. Which is why we’re reaching out around the world to anyone who may have in their possession, any item from the Pacific Theatre that they’d like to potentially donate or loan to the Museum for an agreed period of time. Maybe you’re a collector. Maybe you had a relative who served on Santo or one of the other Pacific islands during World War II. Whatever your circumstances, the Museum would dearly love to hear from you and discuss potential exhibit options.

“The best luck of all is the luck you make for yourself.”
