South Pacific WWII Museum Collection
The most important feature of any museum is it’s collection. For over 10 years museum staff have been collecting items both small and large that will take pride of place in the museum upon its completion. Below you’ll find a hint of what we have collected so far. As we head closer to our grand opening we’ll feature more items destined for the exhibition halls of what will become in time, one of the world’s great museums. Pop Up Museum
In early December 2016, the museum presented a ‘pop-up’ museum to visitors and the people of Santo to give them a taste of what’s coming in the not too distant future.
Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP)
In 2015, the museum acquired a replica US Navy LCVP that was used throughout the South Pacific area of conflict during World War II. Over the coming years the LCVP will be restored and feature prominently in the museum’s collection.
